The process of remapping Chicago’s 50 wards, which takes place every 10 years as new Census data comes in has been called a mess, an opportunity and more. A deal among Chicago’s City Council members has yet to be made and the public now gets a chance to weigh in. The first in a series of hearings begins Wednesday, so Eight Forty-Eight tackled the issue. WBEZ’s bureau reporters and political reporter Sam Hudzik joined the show to help: Natalie Moore is the South Side bureau reporter, Chip Mitchell runs the West Side bureau and Odette Youseff reports from WBEZ’s North Side bureau.
