The history of Playboy was built largely on the Hefner name. Hugh passed along the torch to his daughter Christie, who until January served as CEO of Playboy Enterprises. A successor has yet been named and another head executive resigned shortly after Hefner. Hefner is working with the think tank the Center for American Progress.
