Commissioner Beavers embodiment of old-school pols
Brash, crass, imposing and definitely old school: Those are just some of the words used to describe Cook County Commissioner William Beavers. Now added to the list is alleged tax dodger.
Yesterday the 77-year-old was indicted on tax charges. Prosecutors say Beavers failed to pay taxes on campaign funds and using his county expense account for personal purposes.
Perhaps in typical Beavers fashion, he minced no words declaring his innocence.
