Community College Offers Job Training

Thousands of Chicago area residents who have been laid off recently are looking for new jobs. Statewide community college enrollment has increased as workers seek new skills. The demand for retraining has prompted one local community college to offer free courses to unemployed residents in its district. For WBEZ, Lisa Matuska has the story.

If you're looking to find out more about job training opportunities, visit our WBEZ's Hard Working Coffee House tomorrow. It's at Jane Addams Hull House Museum at 3 p.m. WBEZ's business and economy reporter Adriene Hill will host the conversation, and experts in job training programs will be on hand to discuss what resources and funding are out there and how to find them. We'll also have experts available to explain education loans and repayment options.
