The Chicago Transit Authority may be getting considerably smaller. The agency sent out layoff notices this week to more than one-thousand workers. Transit unions are protesting the plans along with the recent firings of several employees for using cell phones on the job. Meanwhile, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed suggested last week that CTA President Richard Rodriguez may be on the way out after less than 10 months on the job. A CTA spokesperson has denied that rumor, but we have Rodriguez on the line with us now to tell us what he sees in the future for himself and the CTA.
