President Barack Obama is urging Congress to pass an $800 billion economic stimulus package. According to the Pew Research Center, a narrow majority of adults recently surveyed favor the plan.

One of those who favors it is Mayor Daley. He’s put together a wish list of Windy City improvements he’d like to see completed. Yesterday, Daley announced very vague plans for the money, improvements to 15 miles of transit lines here and an addition of 200 schools there. Illinois Policy Institute CEO John Tillman says Daley’s keeping the details close to his chest as a political ploy.

We invited the Mayor’s office and several of the city agencies that stand to gain from these improvements to respond to these complaints, but they declined to join us.
