By Produced by Eight Forty-EightThis week’s DJs might be best known for putting out–not putting on – records. Wayne Montana and Damon Locks have been on the Chicago music scene for more than 20 years. Their old band Trenchmouth had a long life, and their current band The Eternals is also cooking. They’re about to embark on a South American tour and release a new album early next year.
To find out what inspires the music they play – we wanted a mini-tour of their collection.
The Eternals performs Monday Oct. 18 at the Whistler in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. If you’d like to catch them rockin’ the turntables, they do a monthly Thursday night gig at Danny’s Tavern in Bucktown. On Saturday nights, you can catch Wayne spinning old reggae and rock-steady at Rodan in Wicker Park.
