Diwali, the Festival of Lights begins Friday. The fest is a five-day extravaganza, with particular religious significance for Hindus around the world. As part of Eight Forty-Eight’s regular DJ series DJ Jimmy Singh sets the mood for the celebration.
DJ Jimmy Singh is the creator of Bhangratheque, a montly music night. Bhangra is a Punjabi musical style. He told Alison Cuddy about his DJ style and background.
Friday, Singh will move the crowds at an event celebrating Diwali. It takes place at Darkroom in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood.
