You find an apartment, get accepted, sign the dotted line, shake hands with your landlord and move in. Roll out the welcome mat, and you’ve got yourself a new home. But sometimes, renting isn’t always that cut and dry. Today on Eight Forty-Eight, we’re joined by two people with lots of insight on what to do if you run into problems after the ink on your lease has dried.

Rebecca McDannald from Metropolitan Tenants Organization and Mark Swartz from the Lawyers’ Committee for Better Housing join us to take your calls and answer: What are your legal rights as a renter in the Chicago area, and how can renters exercise those rights? Call 312-923-9239 to share your renter stories or for advice.
