Another trove of found footage is behind a new film featuring Vince Guaraldi. His name may ring a bell – and odds are you already know his music. Guaraldi is the man that gave Peanuts a soundtrack. But the jazz pianist had other pursuits as well.
More than 40 years ago, he set out to make a documentary with Ralph Gleason, the co-founder of Rolling Stone. Decades later, Gleason’s son Toby and award-winning filmmaker Andrew Thomas have brought their film back to life in The Anatomy of Vince Guaraldi. The documentary makes its Chicago premiere at CIMMFest on Sunday, April 17.
