The battered economy may be leading more kids to run away from home. The numbers are tough to pin down, because not all runaways are reported and they’re often difficult to track. But there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that money woes are an increasing factor in a child’s decision to leave home. That’s one finding from a new report coming out this week by the Chicago-based National Runaway Switchboard. Maureen Blaha is the executive director of that organization, and she’s here now to tell us more.
