And finally, as part of our summer long Race Out Loud series, Richard Steele will join Eight Forty-Eight to talk about how parents discuss race with their children. Despite what some might hope or think, children are not color blind. African-Americans as young as three or four and white kids as young as five and six identify themselves by race. Steele is joined by Christia Brown, a child psychology expert at the University of Kentucky, in looking at how the child mind understands racial constructs. Does your family talk about race? To join the on-air conversation, call 312.923.9239 or tweet using #848.
