Fighting gang activity for police is nothing new. But more and more, authorities have been using technology, and the court system, to break up criminal activity out of their towns and counties. Eight Forty-Eight explores the different ways in which authorities are fighting gang activity, and whether it’s working. And, WBEZ political reporter Sam Hudzik went to 10th District’s Democratic primary debate, so you don’t have to. He shares the highlights. Also, Gary Griffin, associate artistic director at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, is the director of the production A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He explains his take on The Bard’s comedy classic. Griffin brings along the Mechanicals, the wacky theater troupe from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, who lend their pipes to Eight Forty-Eight.
