On Wednesday the jury will likely begin its deliberations in the trial of Tahawwur Rana. The Chicago man faces a number of terrorism charges, including aiding the 2008 attacks in Mumbai, India.

Rana was implicated by David Coleman Headley, who has pleaded guilty to laying the groundwork for the attacks. The case against Headley was built in part through a joint effort between Chicago police and local FBI agents.

To learn more about Chicago’s role in counterterrorism, Eight Forty-Eight spoke to Bill Monroe. Monroe oversees all counterterrorism investigations in Chicago and is Assistant Special Agent in Charge.
