It might be one of the all-time worst movies, cut down to three minutes. Or it could be a compilation of the most bizarre and hilarious lines from a late-night infomercial. All it takes is a bunch of old VHS tapes, access to somewhat modern editing software, and a group of creative folks with perhaps a little too much time on their hands. And voila – a recipe for some serious fun. The project is called Everything Is Terrible. That’s the name of the group, their long-standing Web site, and the new DVD that will screen this Friday at the Music Box on Southport in Chicago. Two members of the E.I.T. crew tell us all about the project. Katie Rife posts under the name Future Schlock, and Nick Maier is known to E.I.T. fans as Commodore Gilgamesh.
