Through filmmaker Fred Wiseman’s lens, we’ve explored public places like hospitals, mental institutions, housing projects and high schools. In 2004, he turned his attention to lawmakers in the state of Idaho for the film State Legislature. Eight Forty-Eight film critic Jonathan Miller recently says the time Wiseman spent with the State Legislature offers an intimate look at one of our core branches of government.

The film screens tomorrow night at 7 at Chicago Filmmakers.
