Deirdre Battaglia was the first female warden in an Illinois men’s maximum security prison. She retired in 2007 as Chief of Assessment and Programs for Maximum Security Prisons. And after a career in the corrections field she has some ideas about prisoners and rehabilitation. She joined Eight Forty-Eight to discuss her time as Warden of Stateville Correctional Center, and what programs can help inmates.
