'Found Magazine's' Davy Rothbart looks for love in new documentary

Imagine putting your most intimate relationship on the big screen, for the whole world to watch up close. That may sound awful to some, but not to Davy Rothbart. The Found Magazine co-creator and frequent This American Life contributor puts his romantic cred on the line in My Heart is an Idiot.

Filmmaker David Meiklejohn documents Rothbart’s relationship struggles: Rothbart emotes, pleads, gets drunk and seeks the advice of just about everybody--from Ira Glass to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Host Alison Cuddy recently spoke with Meiklejohn and Rothbart about the film and their respective takes on love. Meiklejohn started by discussing how the true subject of the film emerged while they were shooting.
