After a little more than a week without garbage collection, crews are hitting the streets this morning in Gary, Indiana. Last night the City Council narrowly voted for a $12 garbage collection fee, even though more than 100 residents opposed it during a recent protest. Now, a private company will collect the trash because Mayor Rudy Clay wanted to cut costs. WBEZ's Michael Puente, who covered last night's meeting, gives the latest.
