Considering the Cubs and the Sox have been serious underachievers so far this season-and that’s putting it nicely-something needed to happen to liven up the Crosstown Classic. And that something came in the form of a Lou Piniella pre-game tirade, where he lashed out against Sox broadcaster Steve Stone. And thus began a weekend of baseball, sponsored by the company responsible for one of the worst man-made environmental disasters in history. Eight Forty-Eight’s Cheryl Raye Stout was sitting next to Piniella when it all went down, and she talks about the series.
