A cure for corruption? Some might say the past few months prove that many politicians are immune. But a new report co-authored by a former alderman says that’s not the case. University of Illinois at Chicago professor Dick Simpson is using his historical background in the city council as a basis to ‘suggest’ a number of reforms.

The report “Curing Corruption in Illinois” leans on analysis of how corruption occurs and proposes solutions. The report was officially released last night during a panel discussion led by Simpson and attended by Cindi Canary of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform and Patrick Collins, the attorney charged with making recommendations to reform state government.
