Huberman Pulls Six Schools off School Closings List
Yesterday Mayor Daley appointed Michael Scott to head the Chicago School board – that's the second time Mr. Scott will take up this position. Last night, the District sent out word that new CEO of schools Ron Huberman has rethought 6 of the 22 school closings or turnarounds proposed for this year. The board is supposed to vote on those closings tomorrow. Meanwhile there are still 16 schools slated to be voted on for consolidation – or closing. WBEZ'S Education reporter Linda Lutton has an update.
