Last night, President Barack Obama spent nearly an hour speaking directly to Americans about the need to overhaul our health care system. He pledged that the government would stay out of people’s personal health care decisions and would contain the national deficit, not increase it. But the details are far from being sorted out. Harold Pollack, a professor of social service administration at the University of Chicago, gives his thoughts about what the President’s words mean.
