Villa Taj, as it’s known, in suburban Burr Ride first went on the market for $25 million, giving it the distinction of being one of the most expensive homes for sale in Illinois. In early November, Villa Taj will go on the auctioning block with a starting bid that’s a quarter of the initial selling price. So, that’s the most extreme example of the type of deal you can find at the auctions. But if your budget is a little less there are many other opportunities to be had.
