Like film, jazz music can be a way to re-discover the past, but in Chicago there’s a new effort afoot to bridge the past and future of jazz. Last night, students met up with some of Chicago’s leading jazz musicians. They had a jam session of sorts at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Randolph Street Café. The event is the result of a partnership between the Cultural Center and the Jazz Institute of Chicago, which will hold monthly sessions like this one through May.
