Clarinetist-composer James Falzone is a man with wide ranging musical tastes. Last time he was on Eight Forty-Eight, he and his group KLANG were putting their spin on the music of Benny Goodman. Now, Falzone is working in a different musical direction. On Lamentations Falzone taps into his love of Arabic music. The new album features two members of his Allos Musica ensemble. But the final product is far from a copy of Arabic classics. When Allos Musica came in to perform and talk about the album they started by playing “The Sixth Lament: Attente”.
