An ongoing exhibit at the Chicago Cultural Center offers a rich glimpse of the emergence of a jazz scene in New York City. Combining sound recordings and photographs, it also tells the story of one artist’s journey of self discovery during the mid 20th century. It’s called the Jazz Loft Project. WBEZ’s Richard Steele has the story.
