To prevent layoffs, Mayor Rahm Emanuel gave unionized city workers two weeks to come up with a cost-saving solution to the city’s budget problems. The deadline is Friday and the mayor is scheduled to hold a press conference today — WBEZ will be there to see if any pink slips are issued.
