Agnes Varda is often revered as the grandmother of French New Wave. She has made more than 30 films in her career. In 1999, at the age of 71, Varda picked up a digital camera, and spent the next few months shooting The Gleaners and I. Many thought it would be her last film, but they were wrong. Eight Forty-Eight’s Film Critic Jonathan Miller reviews her latest work, The Beaches of Agnès, which opens at the Music Box Theatre on Friday.
