Kirk and Giannoulias debate in D.C., Jones and Labno in Chicago
Candidates for Illinois' U.S. Senate seat stressed their differences and highlighted each other's flaws during their first televised debate. It was a weekend showdown. Two of the candidates for Illinois’ U.S. Senate seat took each other to task - for their economic policies and personal slip-ups. Only Republican Mark Kirk and Democrat Alexi Giannoulias were invited to appear on NBC’s Meet the Press. So we invited the Green and Libertarian Party candidates into our studios. We put to them the same questions that Kirk and Giannoulias were asked. WBEZ’s political reporter Sam Hudzik talks about all the Senate candidates’ responses.
