Chicago’s long had a reputation for great guitarists, but they’re usually of the bluesy, plugged-in variety. Goran Ivanovic and Andreas Kapsalis are turning that notion around- fast. In a recent interview, Goran called his music Baltic-Classical-Acoustic Jazz. But more than fingers flying over frets at the speed of light, there’s an inter-play between the two guitars that weaves an almost cinematic experience for the listener. They’ve appeared with their own groups previously on Eight Forty-Eight, and now they’ve teamed up for the new CD, Guitar Duo.
