Earlier this week, Loyola University submitted a zoning proposal to city officials detailing plans to construct new housing and a student union, and expand their new sports center. Over the past few years, many area universities have undertaken new construction – north, south and right in the heart of Chicago’s Loop. So what has all this expansion of higher learning meant for residents living in the area? Costas Spirou, a Professor of Social Science at National-Louis University, explains what this might mean.
