By Produced by Eight Forty-EightMartin Mull’s television resume spans four decades. He appeared on groundbreaking comedies like “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” and “Fernwood Tonight.” Known for playing Leon Carp on “Roseanne,” Mull has recently provided voiceovers on “American Dad.” But Mull maintains that his showbiz career was more accident than aspiration. And he’s never given up his passion – art. His paintings are shown around the world but his latest exhibition is here in Chicago – the town where Mull was born. Mull walked Eight Forty-Eight’s Alison Cuddy through the show with Mull. His paintings are an interesting mix of photo realism and abstraction. But Mull says it’s the way he twists familiar images that best defines his style.
