The music you’ve been listening to has been Air and Simple Gifts, a piece composed by John Williams for the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Itzhak Perlman is on violin with Yo-Yo Ma on cello. The man behind the clarinet is native Chicagoan Anthony McGill. He’s the principal of his instrument for the Metropolitan Opera in New York City And on Sunday, he will perform with the Avalon String Quartet. They’ll play selections from Beethoven, Brahms and a new composition by Harold Meltzer.
