Tammy Duckworth’s appointment as Assistant Secretary of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs left a sizeable vacancy in the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs – an agency she headed. Governor Pat Quinn appointed Iraq War veteran, U.S. Army Captain, and current serving member of the Illinois National Guard, Dan Grant. Dan Grant is also a former senior policy advisor to Quinn. Alison Cuddy spoke with Grant.
