For almost two decades, “At the Movies” was hosted by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert, famous for their witty banter and thumbs-up thumbs-down film review system. After Siskel’s death in 1999, Ebert continued to host the show, until he too was sidelined, by cancer in 2006. Now, two newcomers have taken over the role of armchair critics. We sat down with co-hosts Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz to talk about their new roles and to get their picks and snubs at this year’s Oscars. You can catch the At the Movies special “If We Picked the Winners” this weekend. At the Movies airs Saturdays at 10:35 p.m and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on WLS Channel 7.
