New Photography Book Captures Rockabilly Style

Pompadours, poodle skirts, and automobiles sporting fin-tails. Those are all things of the past, right? Wrong. 1950s style is still all around us, from Southern California to the South side of Chicago you'll find signs of the Rockabilly lifestyle.

But photographer Jennifer Greenburg says true rockabillies are more substance than style. She counts herself among that crowd. That "in," along with her camera skills, led her across the country to document the subculture for her new book The Rockabillies. we caught up with Jennifer recently at a spot where she and her crew shop—Night and Day Vintage on Chicago's North Side. Jennifer says her aesthetic sensibilities first drew her to the world of rockabilly.
