We recently paid a visit to another treasure trove - the rare book stacks at Chicago’s Newberry Library. In a tucked-away corner of the building, Richard Steele spoke with curator Paul Saenger. While the library is open to the public, very few people are allowed into the vault. Only certain staff members have access privileges. And it is off limits to outside film or photography crews of any kind. So it was a special treat to peer inside. But even more special was what we went to see – their newly acquired book from the 14th century. Paul Saenger led the way.
