Chicago-based Everyblock was recently purchased by MSNBC.com. Everyblock is just one of many online media outlets providing news and information happening on the hyper-, or micro-, local level. Their beat can be a neighborhood or even a city block. More than two years ago, Chicago Tribune launched TribLocal.com, a series of Websites and weekly papers that cover suburban Chicago.
