For those who didn’t fill out their census forms, expect a knock on the door. Because starting May 1 Census workers will fan out across the country in an effort to account for everybody. It’s a task that’s especially important in big cities. That’s where you’ll find a lot of historically under-represented folks—those that are poor and often black, or Latino. And here in Chicago, we got a bad rap last month with one of the worst response rates in the country. So as the next phase begins, we thought we’d check in with the Census Bureau. We turn to Chicago-area Census project manager Richard Townsend.
