While lots of folks on the south side were worried about how the Olympics would change their neighborhoods. The Washington Park Advisory Council was on record as supporting the 2016 bid. They saw in the games an opportunity to make development work for them, and they crafted a “Community Benefits Agreement” passed by the Chicago City Council, including the promise of jobs and affordable housing. So, what now? Advisory Council President Cecilia Butler explains.
