This weekend, progressive activists are gathering in Chicago for Socialism 2010, a conference to organize supporters and combat misinformation about the tenets of socialism. Next week the U.S. Social Forum kicks off in Detroit, followed by Socialism 2010-Oakland. Activist Barbara Ransby explains how the current political and economic climate has spurred this upsurge of mobilization.
