Protesters Gather in Opposition to Propostion 8

Yesterday, the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8 or Prop 8, barring same sex marriage in that state. Couples married before the law took effect will remain married, but the impact of the ruling resonated throughout the country as many other states await decisions on same-sex unions. In Chicago, protesters gathered at the Center on Halsted to rally around the issue of equal rights for the gay community.
