Music can transform you, but in the case of Chicago-bred underground legend Andre Williams, his latest album, took him literally to the brink of death. Made in New Orleans with a rabble-rousing party-time back-up band – appropriately called The New Orleans Hellhounds – the album Can You Deal With It was by all accounts almost Williams' last. Williams recently met with Eight Forty-Eight music critic Althea Legaspi at Chicago's Bloodshot Records to discuss the trials and tribulations of his recent album.
