They say the higher you are, the farther you can fall. But that’s not the case for Illinois’ poor as they weather “The Great Recession.” A new report from the service-based non profit group Heartland Alliance details how the state’s poorest residents have been hardest hit by the financial downturn. Amy Rynell is the director of Heartland’s Social IMPACT Research Center and she tells us more.
