Compared to recent years, the level of violence this summer is actually low. Still, crime stats mean little to people who’ve lost a family member to gun or gang violence. On Saturday, July 25th a young man was shot and killed in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Eight Forty-Eight poet-in-residence, Kevin Coval, shares his thoughts.
