Eight Forty-Eight

Revisiting some local acts who dropped by Eight Forty-Eight's studios

Eight Forty-Eight showcases a wide variety of music produced by local artists. Often, these musicians come to the show. Sometimes, the show goes out to talk to them. But no matter where they lay down the tunes, these talented folks always manage to push out something extra-special for the show. Producer Jason Marck chose a few peformances that stood out to him. Three of them come from 2011 and one comes from 2009. It's indie-rock, a bit of post-punk funk, and a singer-songwriter with a wry sense of humor.

Four Performances from Eight Forty-Eight's archives:

The Sea and Cake, "Up On The North Shore", recorded on their practice space

JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart", recorded in WBEZ's Jim & Kay Maybe Performance Studio

Califone, "Evidence", recorded in WBEZ's Jim & Kay Maybe Performance Studio

Daniel Knox, "Evryman For Himself", recorded in WBEZ's Studio 6
