Yesterday, a federal judge declared unconstitutional and overruled the California amendment known as Prop 8 – the state ban on same sex marriages. The fight for gay equality began decades ago, back in the late sixties. And that struggle of course has a special connection to a bar in New York’s Greenwich Village. For WBEZ, Jonathan Miller checks out a new documentary on Stonewall – the little bar that became the big old engine of the gay rights movement.
