Basketball star and native Chicagoan Derrick Rose led Simeon High School to two state titles. As a college freshman, he took Memphis to the NCAA championship game. Later that summer, Rose became the number-one pick in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. On Saturday, Rose led the team to a victory in game one in a best-of-seven series.
