Safeguards for Mental Health Care Professionals

Last week, Army Maj. Nidal M. Hasan allegedly went on a shooting rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, killing 13 people including a man and woman from the Chicago area. Particularly disconcerting is that the suspected shooter was a mental health care provider — a psychiatrist. Nancy Molitor is a clinical psychologist and a public education coordinator for the American Psychological Association in Chicago, and talks more about mental health professionals helping patients who are dealing with high-stress situations.
